K-MAX has been operating in Afghanistan since December 2011. Since that time, the unmanned cargo helicopter has lifted nearly two million pounds of critical supplies to and from the front lines. The aircraft is approaching the end of its time on active duty, but the future is bright for unmanned cargo lift.
